Mobile Ads

Part of having a good mobile marketing strategy is effectivly advertising and deliviering messages to target audiences. Doing this well is a combination of having a good ad and proper placement. When starting a mobile ad campaign, choosing the right application or mobile site is crucial to acheiving the maximum consumer reach. Red Bull does a very good job of advertising in venues that will be effective, along with incentivising consumers to engage the ad.

Current Initiatives

Red Bull recently introduced a few new limited edition flavors of their beverages. Knowing that alot of their target audience reads and uses the us weekly application and mobile site, the company has been running banner ads across user screens promoting the new products. When clicked, the ad takes the user to a web page dedicated to the introduction to the new flavors

Another Successfull web campaign that Red Bull ran a few years ago was the "Share your Wings" campaign.Share your wings was a social media campaign that encouraged fans to share pictures of themselves doing the things that they loved and having fun over the course of a summer. Designed to increase brand engagement between the company and its customers, when a user posted a picture, they were eligible to win a 4 pack. The ads and description of the event was placed as a quick commercial on the Spotify mobile app. just like theads on Us Weekly, Spotify is a great location of a brand like Redbull to reach the types of people they are interested in.

In a similar campaign, Redbull successfully crowdsourced content from its followers by encouraging them to post videos of themselves doing things that inspire them. The ad and prompt for the campaign lived on Vevo's mobile video app and had its own seperate page to go along with.

There is a relitively common theme that goes along with most of Redbulls mobile advertising. As a testiment to the nature of the brand, they are consistantly based upon user interaction and building a personalized relationship with its audience.
